Foster a Cat

Are you looking to change the life of a cat or kitten forever? Then fostering is for you!

Fostering is a rewarding experience that allows you to help our homeless cats get a second chance as they regain health, learn to trust and love again, and acquire socialization necessary for a forever home. The average foster commitment is around one month but we do have shorter and longer opportunities available. We have a variety of foster options which includes: weaned kittens, mama and babies, bottle babies, sick or injured cats, under-socialized cats or kittens, and cats simply needing a cage break.

Forgotten Cats will provide a training manual and medical care for all foster cats. You provide the basic necessities: litter box & litter, food (Purina cat or kitten chow), bedding, and love.

When you foster a cat you actually save two lives: the life of your foster cat and the life of the homeless cat that takes his/her place in the shelter.

If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please submit a foster application here:

Note: We recommend using Chrome or Firefox to submit your application. Safari, Edge, and other browsers may run into hiccups during the submission process.

All new foster parents will be given an overview of the foster policies and a contact list prior to receiving their foster. Additionally, while you are caring for foster animals, we may call you from time to time to check on the animals' progress and address any concerns you may have.

Should your foster animal become ill while in your care, please contact a member of our organization. We will make arrangements for your foster animal to receive medical care as necessary. If a foster parent takes it upon him/herself to seek medical care without first alerting a member of the organization, that foster parent may be liable for payment of the veterinary invoice.
